About Drajinn
Djinn dragons (djinn as in genie) are lost spirits who inhabit cherished objects. They are bound to these objects and can draw themselves in or out of it, like a genie to a lamp.
When an object is loved by someone, it is filled with a special energy which it retains even after it is separated from its owner. Drajinn use this energy as a life force, establishing a physical form for themselves in the process. Their form resembles the bound object in some way, and it’s common for Drajinn to show behaviors and desires related to the nature of the object. A drajinn bound to a scarf may feel the need to sit around around someone's neck to keep them warm, a shoe drajinn may prefer walking to flying, and a drajinn bound to a musical instrument may be able to replicate the sound it makes.
The nature of the object, the beliefs of its owner, and original owner’s feelings toward the object about it shape the Drajinn’s personality. Many Drajinn seek out companions, while some prefer to live alone.
Drajinn can transform and change size at will, though their colors stay the same. They often have a preferred size, which is the ideal size to protect their object. They typically resemble dragons but can look like other mythical creatures of the culture their object originated from.
Djinn Dragons must protect their object at all costs, if the object is damaged they are weakened, and if it is irreparably broken they are forced to return to the spirit realm.

LORE Info
Objects
Drajinn cannot inhabit something with its own life force, ie plants, animals, and humans. They will choose objects that won't degrade quickly and could last for many years. The exception would be if these things were sealed or protected in a container (a pressed flower in a locket, a preserved animal in a jar, an unopened tin of biscuits)
Large objects which have been loved by many are less common and more difficult to tap into than small objects loved by one. To bind itself to large things, a spirit must be particularly strong or willful. Drajinn who have sucessfully bound themselves to large objects like statues or monuments are rarer and more powerful.
Morphing & Object Transit
Drajinn can shapeshift and change size to an extent, though they can't change color outside of their established color scheme.
Becoming solid
Djinn dragons are weakened spirits that float helplessly through spiritual currents, like leaves in a fast-flowing river. Because of their special energy, cherished objects stick out in these currents like branches, and the spirits can grab ahold of them. Once they do, they are bound to the object and pulled through to our world, gaining a physical form in the process.
Wishes
Drajinn can grant wishes - the nature of how they fulfill the wish depends on their personality.
Drajinn cannot grant wishes to save a life or raise the dead without consequence- If they wish to do this, they can make a deal with fate to sacrifice their own life force for that of another. Their spirit returns to the spirit realm considerably weakened and, depending on their current strength, they may not have the chance to re-establish themselves in another object.

- They have a default drajinn form and a preferred size which is usually the ideal size to protect their object.
- Drajinn recharge their energy reserves by resting inside of their object, closest to the object's life energy.
- Staying in Drajinn form at their preferred size or smaller requires the least amount of energy.
- Shapeshifting outside of their preferred form utilizes energy that can exhaust the drajinn, leaving them vulnerable if they need to defend their object.
- A drajinn with low life force will become more transparent as its energy is expended and forced to return to their object.
